PROJECT DETAILS:
Project Name: Colorado State University Football Stadium
Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
Date of Installation: Summer/Fall 2022
Salesperson: Geoff Czapla
Application/Solutions: TechCrete 2500 Waterproofing Agent & TechCrete Accelerating Agent as a barrier against long-term water entry.
THE CHALLENGE:
Create a long-term barrier within the stadium’s concrete to protect against water entry and enhance concrete durability to handle the 26,000+ attendees that use it. The application needed to be quick with little to no downtime in anticipation of fall football and the start of fall classes.
THE SOLUTION:
The TechCrete 2500 Waterproofing Agent creates a long-term barrier against water entry and enhances concrete durability.
The TechCrete 2500 interacts with the calcium contained within the concrete to form a calcium silicate gel. This creates a barrier against moisture and environmental contaminants. It is also designed to seal current and future non-structural cracks and will remain active in the concrete to self-repair future non-structural cracks when it comes in contact with water.
The TechCrete Accelerating Agent is used with the TechCrete 2500 system to decrease the time between application and use.
PRODUCTS USED:
TechCrete 2500 Waterproofing Agent & TechCrete Accelerating Agent Manufactured by Alchemco
THE RESULTS:
The contractor was able to apply the TechCrete 2500 system using only four employees, a bucket on a cart, a sump pump, and a hose with a sprayer. Two employees cleaned the concrete with a power washer and the other two applied the TechCrete. The two employees applying the product used only a cart and a sump attached to a garden hose and sprayer for application. They were able to complete very large areas in a short amount of time which saved them a lot of money on labor. Each area was almost completely dry and ready for foot traffic by the time that the next area was completed.
